The project provides consultative support and know how transfer on legal, strategic, institutional and capacity building aspects which underpin the regional development policies of the Government of Kazakhstan.
The subject of regional development in Kazakhstan is currently receiving significant attention as the country moves towards sustainable and regionally balanced growth. In order to enhance living standards of the population the development in the regions should build on coherent legislative and institutional framework, comprehensive strategies, targeted action plans and competent human resources. Together with the Ministry for Regional Development, Agency for Civil Service Affairs, Academy of Public Administration and Regional Training Centres, One Stop Shops, pilot oblast Akimats and other regional development actors, the project team will strive to bring about improved development policies and local service delivery in line with “Kazakhstan – 2050 Strategy: New Political Course of the Established State”.Olga BRODERICK, Team Leader and Regional Development Policy Expert
